Plagiarism policy

The journal "Ukrainian Interventional Neuroradiology and Surgery" accepts only original articles, witch not been published before and were not submitted for publication in any other journal.

The Journal of "Ukrainian Interventional Neuroradiology and Surgery" uses software to detect text borrowings in submitted manuscripts: Detector Plagiarist, Antiplagiat. Manuscripts where plagiarism or text borrowing are detected without referrals to the original source are rejected by the editorial board before the article is published in journal.

Plagiarism before publication

The editorial board of the Journal “Ukrainian Interventional Neuroradiology and Surgery” analyzes all cases of plagiarism. If plagiarism or text borrowing is detected by editors or reviewers at any stage before the publication of the manuscript, the author (s) warn to rewrite the text or make a reference to the original source. If the plagiarism is more than 25% of the article, it may be rejected, and the institution / employer of the author is informed about it.

Plagiarism Check Policy

The manuscripts in which plagiarism is detected are handled based on the extent of plagiarism present in the manuscript. 

<25% plagiarism - The manuscript is immediately sent back to the authors for content revision.
>25% plagiarism - The manuscript is rejected without editorial review.

The authors are advised to revise the plagiarized parts of the manuscript and resubmit it as a new manuscript.

The percentage of plagiarism is calculated by software and also assessed manually and evaluated by editorial board and editorial council. 

Plagiarism after publication

If plagiarism is detected after publication, the editorial board will conduct an investigation. If plagiarism is found, the journal editorial office will contact the author's institute Articles containing a plagiarism of any volume will be removed from the journal issue in electronic form, with a notification of the fact of plagiarism in this article on the page itself and sent an official notification to the institution / employer. In addition, a list of "unreliable" manuscripts (publications) was created on the page of the journal with the provision of all disputed or conflicting materials for all readers.

Recommendations to avoid plagiarism

  • Use quotation marks for words taken literally from the source
  • Do not change parts of the quote in the context of the sentence
  • Use separate characters to quote in the quote
  • Use three dots (space and three dots) for part of the omitted quotation
  • Use parenthesestoadd own words
  • Restrictusage of direct quotations

Please, try to paraphrase information or summarize information from different sources using your own words.

The authors are responsible for obtaining a copyright license to use illustrations, tables, drawings taken from other authors and / or sources. The permission must be placed below each item.

Autoplagiarism

Some authors may write several sections for several different books, which are only slightly modified. Each manuscript is protected by copyright after its publication. Because the author no longer owns the rights to these sections, do not repeat them. Most editors and reviewers say, that autoplagy is unethical. So, the author can`t copy his own material for the new manuscript without the permission of the copyright owner. An exception is possible, when quote author's short phrases from his own work and accompanied them with relevant links.
